One of the leading forms of entertainment today, if not the leading form, is the movie. Lots of beloved characters that we know of today are from films made and released in Hollywood. Something that makes a character really stand out is an iconic  costume, and in this article, we are going to discuss a few of the most iconic costumes ever seen in movies.

1. Superheroes

Those of us who grew up reading comic books were thrilled to see movie adaptations of the stories and characters of these comics and graphic novels.  Superheroes such as Superman, Batman, Spiderman, et cetera, have come to life before our eyes thanks to motion pictures. But you can't have a superhero without a super costume, and these films did not disappoint on this front. One film that was recently released follows Wonder Woman, and her costume was fantastically envisioned and given life in order to draw in the audience and tell a wonderful tale.

2. Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean)

Since the year of 2003, we have had the pleasure of being able to watch the Pirates of the Caribbean and the movies that followed in the series. The most well-known character from this series is Jack Sparrow, played by none other than Johnny Depp. We all know the dreadlocks, bandana, rings, and pirate's clothing that make up this one of a kind character, and Jack Sparrow is arguably one of the most iconic characters from modern film. Naturally, he has a  costume that is just as eye-catching as he is.

3. Princess Leia

Another iconic costume comes from the  Star Wars series, and more specifically, the character known as Princess Leia. When we first saw Princess Leia appear in episode IV, she wore her long hair up, with a coiled bun on either side of her head, and sported a flowy white dress. Though her costume naturally changed throughout the series, most of us, if not all, will always remember her best in the first costume that she appears in.

In conclusion, our culture is built heavily upon the movies, and therefore characters, that we have been presented with for decades. And it's safe to say that this is mostly due to the iconic  costumes that they have been given.
